During Texas Tax-Free Weekend, participating Downtown Bastrop businesses are giving shoppers an extra reason to visit. When you shop at participating locations, you'll receive a FREE Shop & Scratch card for a chance to instantly win prizes from Downtown Bastrop businesses.

Whether you're searching for the perfect first-day outfit, unique school accessories, teacher appreciation gifts, dorm décor, or something special for yourself, you'll find one-of-a-kind treasures throughout Historic Downtown Bastrop.

How It Works

Participating is easy! Shop local, explore Downtown Bastrop, and you could walk away with more than just great finds.

Claiming Your Prize

If your Shop & Scratch card reveals an instant prize, bring your winning scratch card to the Bastrop County Museum & Visitor Center to claim your prize.

Please present your winning scratch card to museum staff during regular business hours. Staff will verify your winning card and provide instructions for redeeming your prize.

Please Note:

Winning scratch cards must be presented in person.
Prizes can only be claimed on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Lost, stolen, or damaged winning cards cannot be replaced.

Do all cards win?

No. Shop + Scratch cards are randomly distributed and not all cards contain winning messages.

What if my card is lost or damaged?

Lost, stolen, altered, copied, or damaged cards are not eligible for redemption.

Can I get more than one card?

Yes! You'll receive one Shop + Scratch card with each qualifying purchase at participating businesses. The more participating businesses you visit and shop during the event, the more chances you'll have to receive additional cards and discover what surprises await.

Card distribution is subject to availability and participating business guidelines.
