Celebrate the inaugural ¡Viva Bastrop! Hispanic Heritage Festival, an evening filled with the music, dance, flavors, and traditions that honor Hispanic Heritage Month in the heart of Historic Downtown Bastrop.

 

Hosted by Discover Bastrop and First National Bank, this free celebration brings together live entertainment, cultural performances, authentic cuisine, family activities, and interactive experiences for an unforgettable night.

 

 

6:15 PM: Ballet Folklórico Performance featuring Cedar Creek High School dancers with Mariachi

6:00–7:00 PM:
     -Best Grito Contest (Yelling Contest)
     -Chancla Throwing Challenge

8:45 PM: Heritage March led by beautifully dressed quinceañeras, followed by the 512 Cadets, Ballet Folklórico dancers, and country flags representing Hispanic cultures from across Latin America.

9:00–10:00 PM: Street Dance Celebration featuring:
     -512 Cadets
     -Huapango dancers
     -Payaso de Rodeo dance

6:00–10:00 PM: Kids Zone (located on Spring Street)
     -Bounce Houses
     -Face Painting
     -Piñatas
     -Rock Climbing Wall

Mercado Hispano (Hispanic Marketplace) featuring 15 local vendors offering authentic food, handmade crafts, artisan goods, and unique finds.

 

Play Lotería Around Downtown: Beginning during F.A.M.E. Days on September 4 and continuing through September 18, visit participating downtown businesses to play Lotería (Mexican Bingo).
